Custom decks, cedar fences, and outdoor living from Kyler Drew— fifteen years of work I'd want at my own house.

“If it's not built the way I'd build it for my own house, it doesn't leave the yard.”
DrewBuilt is me, my crew, and a trailer that lives across the Salt Lake valley most weeks. We frame decks, set fence posts, run cable railing, and put up pergolas. Around four hundred of them, give or take, over the last fifteen years.
I started this because too many homeowners I knew were getting a deck that looked nothing like what they pictured — or worse, a deck that started pulling away from the house three winters in. Decks here have to handle freeze-thaw, long winters, and a hot dry summer. So we build for that. Stainless hardware. Proper ledger flashing. Posts set on real footings. The boring stuff that decides whether you're still happy with it in year fifteen.
The other thing I got tired of was the guesswork. So we added a step where you upload a photo of your house and we send a render of what your deck or fence will actually look like, before you sign anything. It's the same picture I want in my head before I cut wood — now you have it too.

I don't do everything. I do these four, and I do them the way I'd build them at my own house. Quotes are fixed-price. Permits are included.

Single-level, multi-level, wraparound, raised. Picture-frame borders, hidden fasteners, mitered corners. Built for Utah freeze-thaw.

Stainless cable for the view, cedar top rail for the warmth, powder-coated steel for the modern build. Every post plumb and flush.

Western red cedar, board-on-board or horizontal slat. Set on properly-sized footings so they don’t lean. Stained or left to silver.

Cedar pergolas, attached or freestanding. Stained tongue-and-groove ceilings. Hidden cable runs for fans and lights. Built around how you actually use the yard.

“The deck matched the render almost exactly.”

A 480 sq ft multi-level composite deck with a continuous cable railing run and a stained cedar pergola. Frames the Wasatch ridgeline so you don't see anything but the mountains from the kitchen.

“The miters were so tight my wife thought it was one piece of wood. Build day one, the truck showed up at 7am sharp. That tells you everything.”
“Seeing the deck on our house before signing was a game-changer. What he built matched the render.”
“Cable railing on our deck turned out great. Details were clean. Finished on the day Kyler said he would.”
“Best contractor experience we’ve had. The visualizer sold my wife. The crew earned the rest.”

I work the corridor between Ogden and Provo. If you're roughly an hour from Saratoga Springs, I can build for you.
